John Tyler Community College
13101 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Chester, VA 23831, USA
Since 1967, John Tyler Community College has been serving the community as a public, two-year institution of higher education. We offer high-quality, easily accessible, and affordable education for our students.
With campuses in Chester and Midlothian and off-campus classrooms throughout the area, our majors, services and community partnerships are as diverse as the urban, suburban and rural areas we serve.
Our students are just as diverse. They graduate and transfer to top-notch colleges and universities. They train for technical careers. They take classes to upgrade job skills or for personal enrichment. They are high school juniors and seniors taking college-level courses in a local high school. And when not in class, our students explore interests and have fun with a vibrant range of student organizations.
Tyler is more than a college. We engage in our community. We host cultural and educational events like Fool For Art Festival. We work closely with industry, business and community leaders to find solutions today for the workforce of tomorrow. We are a major economic engine for Virginia and, particularly, for the College’s service region, which includes Amelia, Charles City, Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George, Surry and Sussex.
